Hathras: Soul Crushing And Eye Opening Incident for Youth

A girl gets raped and murdered.

Govt. first doesn't care, then tries to claim it fake, then burn the victim's body without permission from her family, then bans Media and opposition to enter the village.

Nothing could be scarier for a country that claims to be democratic.

Why is it Soul Crushing?

..........................................

Why it's an eye-opener for Youth?

As far as my observations are concerned, Indian Youth is becoming "opinionated" more than ever. Thankfully so.

But it needs to be done in an intelligent way.

If you read something like you are doing right now, focus on what is written, not on who the author is, or about whom the statement is.

People always find a way to make it personal - or that's what they have learnt from their parents, that's what they've been taught. I'm sure if I ask you to count the families in your neighborhood that your parents or grandparents or you yourself consider "lesser" than yours, because you have cracked an exam, or you have done good marriages (which means no inter-cast marriage, and even marriage with rich families), you'll tell me some awful, however many, 'legit' numbers. And that's a shame.

In India, people believe in "comparing" themselves. I'm today here, that person is there, that is more; I don't have enough. Thinking like this would surely make you bitter. And feelings ALWAYS find their way out of you, in one situation or another, in one form or another. And cause inhumane actions. Not that they can use the concept as an excuse, but yeah.

Then they inflict their pain into their interpersonal interactions, which causes some of the most serious problems of the world like this one. That is, building a cancel and hatred culture on social media around particular people by people in power for their political goals.

Misinformation is a danger to society and a poison to thoughts.

In this information era calling its spreaders "true evils" would not be an exaggeration.

How do you fight it?

Question. Question everything you read or watch or listen. Look for evidence and authenticity, however tempting does jumping to conclusions seem to you.

And be really careful about what you post on social media, after cross-checking the facts.

Report posts and articles that seem to provide made-up information.

Tell me in the comment section how do you plan to fight this problem and how do you feel about this!
